Burning Odour Coming From Your Dryer

 

After a drying cycle, do you notice a burning smell coming from your dryer?  This is a sign of excessive lint build-up, a substance so flammable that it’s often recommended as fire-starter or kindle by wildlife survival experts. Lint build-up occurs if you neglect yearly vent inspection and cleaning.  Once your dryer vent is clogged, the exhausting airflow superheats the lint present, giving off a burning smell.  The build-up of lint is often located in the drum-casing, lint trap and most commonly, the dryer vent.  If your dryer displays this behavior, it is a good idea to stop using it until it’s cleaned of lint/debris.
