Check Filter Light is On

 

Newer clothes' dryers have a built-in feature that indicates whether you have a dryer vent obstruction or damage, known as a check filter light.  If your check filter light is on, it commonly means that you are in need of a dryer vent cleaning.  In extreme cases of lint accumulation, you are incapable of using your dryer at all due to a built-in fail safe that prevents it from starting.  Lint accumulation or damage to your dryer venting configuration can present a number of issues; such as increased risk of household fire, rise in utility bills and slower drying cycles.
